Do you ever think “I hate everything?” Do you ever think “I hate people,” “I hate life,” “life is pointless” and other similar things? I’m going to give you some ideas about how you make your own life pointless and how you can change your life for the better in every way.
Point number one.
What is a trance? What is hypnosis? Trance and hypnosis are actually not mystical bullshit states, they are everyday realities. Here are some examples:
a) Mass hypnosis.
Religious fanatics, huge political rallies, cults, radical nationalism and other idols. What do all these have in common? A large group of people is hypnotized by some leader or idea and then they live their lives according to this leader or idea. Certain ideas have been hypnotizing people for 2000 years or more.
b) Individual hypnosis.
You see someone across the room. You like him/her. You begin to imagine how wonderful it would be to meet this person. You become hypnotized. You meet, you fall in love. Love can be a form of hypnosis. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many divorces. Or, you are in an elevator on the ground floor. You press 17. That’s the floor you’re going to. But as your mind wanders, hypnotized, you get off when the door opens on the 12th floor, without even realizing it. You were hypnotized.
c) Conceptual self-hypnosis.
You live your life in a walking daze. You absorb influences from your surroundings and then you interpret them and create your own beliefs. But are they real or are they some kind of thought-matrix?
It is this last form of self-created conceptual trance hypnosis that I want to focus on. Being caught up in a web of thoughts and beliefs, you’re actually living in a pathological trance. You want to make changes in your life, you want to grow and move in new directions, but you are held back by your own habits and cognitive thought loops. The same thoughts keep repeating themselves, hour after hour, day after day. Morpheus was right. Is it real? Your mind makes it real. Does the matrix have you?
Point number two.
Untangle your thoughts. Are your beliefs true, or are they bullshit? Did you create them yourself, or did you adopt them from others? Do you define yourself the way others describe you? Most people are walking around with a bunch of ideas in their heads and those ideas have nothing to do with reality. They are merely interpretations of reality. Choose your beliefs consciously. Most important, choose your beliefs about yourself conciously and carefully. Your self-concept can affect everything you do.
Point number three.
Personality is a construct. You are not your personality. There’s something deeper than that. I’ve seen people change completely after some disaster struck in their lives. Sometimes negative events have a way of shocking people out of their false realities through intense suffering.
If you look inside yourself and get in touch with your emotions, then you can develop your personality over time. You can change, you can change the way you view the world, you can change the way you live your life, you can change your outcomes. Money, relationships, “success,” all depend on your worldview.
Isn’t it better to do this concsiously, NOW, rather than wait for something nasty to happen or just… wait… and wait… and wait… until you die?
Point number four.
Notice and break your patterns. When you see negative pattern in yourself, identify it and interrupt it in some way. There’s a simple example of a little tactic to do this in my post on self help books.
Look around my site. There are plenty of ways to help you get out of your own mental and emotional habits.
Point number five.
The chemical reaction model of the mind is ridiculous and unproven. What causes you to have good or bad brain chemistry? The ancient Chinese have known this for thousands of years. It is your intent. Believing that your mind is not in your control is self-sabotage. It turns you into a victim and makes you feel powerless.
This last point is perhaps the most important. If you believe that you are powerless to change the better, then you are. If you believe strongly and with emotion that can change, you can succeed, you can get the woman/man you want, etc…, then you have set a power in motion that will help you move toward your dreams.
Belief is the bridge between the present and the future. It is also the bridge between your conscious mind and your vast subconscious resources. Remember the movie The Empire Strikes Back?
Luke exclaimed to Yoda: “I don’t believe it!”
To which Yoda replied: “That is why you fail.”
I know this from experience now, so start using this knowledge and start putting it into practice NOW, and I doubt your future life will be pointless.
